Remember when Republicans were so concerned about deficits? Not so much... today they are outraged that the IRS is not being shut down by the sequester and will continue to collect the revenue that reduces deficits. Gosh, do you think maybe deficits are not their real agenda after all?

The Drudge Report is always good for a tip-off on what the right's outrage machine is going to be on about on any given day. And today it's this headline-above-the-headline: "IRS Furloughs to Begin AFTER Tax Season..."

AFTER! Oh bring out the smelling salts.

Drudge links to Fox's Wall Street Journal: IRS Furloughs to Begin After Tax Season. (The WSJ is for Serious people, because they don't capitalize "after," even though they say the same things...)

The Internal Revenue Service plans to require five to seven days of unpaid leave for many of it employees through September, but it won’t begin the furloughs until the summer in an effort to avoid disruptions in the April tax filing deadline.

... lot of Republicans have said, though, that White House officials are exaggerating the impact of the sequester cuts. Obama administration officials have worked in the past few days to try and soften their initial dire warnings about the cuts’ impact, at least in the first few weeks.

Other Right-Wing-Fainting-Spell News

In other right-wing-fainting-spell news (get the fainting couch ready) Obama is getting all uppity and "poisoning the well" -- and it could "cost him GOP support." That mean Obama is being mean to the poor, victimized Republicans who are always SO nice and considerate and especially, especially cooperative!

"But to date, what we've seen is the President out campaigning to the American people, doing rallies around the country, flying around the country, and berating Republicans. And blaming and pointing. Now what does that do? That causes the Republicans to retrench and then put up a wall and fight back."

Yes, Obama makes them do the things they do, otherwise they would be such nice, considerate, bipartisan, cooperative people...

The Hill, Republicans warn Obama has 'poisoned' relations with campaign-style attacks,

President Obama's public shaming of congressional Republicans to act on a range of issues may be winning at the polls — but it risks alienating the people needed to reach bipartisan compromise.

... The public opinion push seems to be working politically — Obama leads congressional Republicans in approval ratings by a wide margin. He has kept those issues in the spotlight and polls show the public currently blames the GOP for the looming sequester and sides with Obama on gun control and immigration.

But to get anything accomplished Obama will need to convince the few remaining centrist Republicans to vote with him — and a public lobbying campaign could infuriate the many members not facing tough elections..

Oh dear! Obama risks "infuriating" Republicans!!!!!!!

Uppity Obama sure does risk "infuriating" Republicans a lot:
