The root of the problem is that our politicians and big corporations are short-sighted and sold American middle class short. Their goal is to maximize their quarterly profit margin, not middle class job security and quality living standards. When was the last time you hear big corporations talk about their 5-year plan? How many politicians sided with middle class and American prosperity when big corporations lobbied otherwise? The greedy capitalists are perfecting their games in achieving their short-term profits and getting exactly what they wanted.

I don’t think we shall waste time blaming China for our failure to anticipate the tragic failure of our policies. After all, we are the ones, who elected incompetent politicians and also failed to fend off big corporations’ greed.

The right pathway to rebuild our middle class and bring back good-paying jobs is to stand tall against our politicians and corporate lobbyists. Americans share the burden for the fall of the middle class and failure to enact good economic policies.

Anticipate. Aim at the right target. Don’t just react. Don’t fight against your own interests!!! China has huge markets. Use it wisely. Make mutually beneficial trades.
It’s not China’s job to make American politicians to implement good policies for American middle class.

Before the Civil War the South opposed tariffs because it raised the price of fancy ballroom dresses. The North favored tariffs because it was the major source of government revenue and helped build the U.S. industrial base and gave us a middle class.

The South also favored low wages, or make that no wages.

We still have an aristocratic class in America, and they still want "free trade" and slave wages.

And elites have been making record profits on this travesty ever since. As they currently own Congress, I am doubtful that anything will be done about it and that the transfer of wealth from workers and taxpayers will continue until there's literally nothing left in the public domain.

BTW, how's your 401k working out?

Leo, how do you live from day to day without wanting to either bring out the guillotines or to build huge gallows for these mega-criminals? I dream about doing that, or seeing it done, at least once a day. I would greatly appreciate an answer.
