I went over and read (some of) the "Dear Liberals" post. A little searching showed the email (Deaniac) of the poster belongs to the Blog's owner.

I can (sort of) understand making an argument against social security for some ideological reason or other. But I just don't get how people deny math, especially since Deaniac identifies himself as being in Silicon Valley.

The American people are not sold on this idea. The only way it can happen is if the issue validators (I talking about you Robert Greenstein) and the mainstream media don't raise the alarm. Chris Hayes seems to be waking up to what's at stake and I hope other liberal media will quickly do the same. Last year, Obama successfully took the increased Medicare eligibility age off the table in response to Republican intransigence. He should do the same with Chained CPI. Then, if people feel like taking on comprehensive Social Security reform, we can have a full airing of the alternatives, keeping it separate from the general budget mess, in which Social Security had no part.
