We have a lot of restrictions upon what services people are allowed to do, which is why we have these sort of income levels. Today’s worker has very little “choice” in things, especially as the US is now a “service industry” country, not a country that makes things any more. Those responsible for this have the elephant as as their political symbol, although the wooly mammoth would likely be a better choice today…
