Whether Mr Peterson and his 1% ‘Fix the Debt’ friends spend their time and money to take pressure off the budget to keep their own taxes low or whether they do it in order to gain enough influence to privatize government programs (as has been asserted) may affect the fightback but makes little difference to the end result which would be to disadvantage the many for the good of their few. The author, Mr Pizzigati, seems to put his finger on that very essence in his 2nd last paragraph, which is the age old fight to prevent the plutocrats ( the 1%ters) from running the US government for their own benefit as against the benefit of the other 99%. So far they’re doing OK.
