Dear Dave;

When you wrote:

“…when people are scared and misinformed our Congress should pause, step back and help inform us instead of rushing to take advantage of the fear.”

Though I agree that such a policy would be great, you may be living in the “world of shoulds.” It’s a well known political position to exploit fear in an effort to control and manipulate us. This has been going on for years – even centuries?

The responsibility of due diligence depends exclusively on the people being “informed” to see if they’re really being misinformed.

Given the lack of critical thinking that seems to pervade our polarized political platform, I hold little belief that the population at large, more interested in entertainment than information, will choose the former over the latter.

The big deal isn’t about any fiscal “cliff;” rather, the real story is the RightWing nuts’ fiscal BLUFF, in which they fraudulently threaten the Publc–much like ex-Goldman Sachs honcho-turned-Treasury Sec’y Hank Paulsen hoodwinked Congress and the Public into capitulating for the subsequent multi-trillion-dollar Bailout of the criminal banksters who tanked the global economy since 2007-8. I say we concerned citizens should learn the lessons from Argentina and Iceland–no caving in to the financial crooks, prosecute them instead!

Gotta hand it to those right-wing fanatics. They sure are good at coming up with words that garner support for their cause, even though they actually mean the opposite of what’s true. Another great example is PRO-LIFE. EVERYONE IS PR0-LIFE! What they really mean is pro-fetus. In fact, they are less pro-life than pro-choice because after the fetus becomes a baby, they could care less if it survives (no welfare, no health care, etc.). The MSM us complicit because they love controversy, no matter how stupid it may be to any rational, thinking person.

Fiscal slope
Fiscal swindle
Austerity bomb
Fiscal standoff
Roger Hickey likes Fiscal Swindle. I like austerity bomb because Krugman and Chris Hayes have used it and I think if we could unite around a term it would help. So how about austerity bomb?

Bush Tax Cuts, Payroll Tax Cuts, Sequestred Spending cuts.
A great debate on each. No good solutions. People get hurt
on each. Result of tax cuts was more debt debt debt.
Spending cuts mean loss of jobs in federal government.
Each party is playing talk politics not common sense positive solutions.
