What are you talking about?” he could have asked. “Most people work 40, 45 or even 50 years before they get to retire, and after they retire they will be lucky to live 20 more years, much less 30. And that reality, sir, is precisely what the creators of Social Security had in mind, not your Wall Street fantasy of retiring after a ’25-year career.’”
“I’m ending this interview,” Pelley could have justifiably said. “You have no idea what you’re talking about.”
