I agree. Everybody should read Naomi Klein’s book – The Shock Doctrine. If you haven’t then I don’t believe it’s possible to fully understand how the 1% work…they have a strategy and they take a long-term view. For the rest of us, democracy requires citizen vigilance and involvement. I am reminded of a basic tenent of politics, marketing and religion: A simple message with an emotional hook, delivered repeatedly can convince most anyone to do or believe anything, particularly if they are part of a group.
