Kudos. All this while Verizon throttles those users who paid for "unlimited 4G service." I have two such lines an am very ill. There are no viable broadband alternatives for streaming entertainment in my area. So, I pay Verizon hundreds of dollars per month because I am confined to a chair in hopes I can watch television not available on the mainstream networks using streaming. My connection is throttled to 3G because I am an "abuser." Last time I looked when I pay for a service and use that service it is not abuse - it is utilizing the benefits agreed to by the contract. Yet somehow by continually using the word "abuser" with regard to high bandwidth users who PAY for unlimited use Verizon has abided by that adage that repeat the same phrase or word enough and the public believes it. Verizon, like many companies and individuals for that matter has no moral or ethical compass in my opinion. A company that can earn billions of dollars yet still collect tax subsidies clearly has little regard for the society in which we live as a whole. Just because companies justify their greedy greedy greedy piggy piggy piggy practices by saying things like "blame the government, we are only taking advantage of the law" and using K street lobbyists to get those laws written does not justify these kinds of actions. Verizon brags about infrastructure improvements and you can't turn around without hearing or seeing a Verizon Fios commercial, yet in Baltimore where I live Verizon stated flatly that it will not be making Fios available in our marked (despite receiving Maryland tax incentives and rebates) after I lodged a complaint with the FCC. My complaint was about Verizon's DSL services and not offering FIOS in a market it advertises and Verizon was dismissive of both of those issues and of course since our government panders to these mega corporations nothing for the public will be done. Thanks for the opportunity to vent. Ed S.
